1 of 114 products in this brand
ELASTOSIL® LR 3846/20 A/B is a considerable oil-bleeding, liquid silicone rubber of the ELASTOSIL® LR 3846 series. It is a paste-like, readily pigmentable, two-component product with a short curing time. Shortly after the curing process, a slight, thin oil film with lubricating properties forms on the surface of the vulcanizates. The vulcanizates are opaque, have good mechanical and electrical properties, and have very low compression sets.

Polymer Name: Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR)

End Uses: Automobile Door Seals, Automotive Connector Seals, Batteries, Cables

Features: Cost Effective, Excellent Lubricity, Excellent Opacity, Fast Curing, Good Electrical Properties, Good Mechanical Properties, Heat Stabilized, High Bleed Resistant, Low Compression Set, Low VOC, Low Volatility, Pigmentable

Application Details

ELASTOSIL® LR 3846/20 A/B is particularly suitable for the economical production of weather packs in the automotive industry. They are increasingly being used to produce cable and connector seals. As an oil film forms, seals can be fitted easily and fully-automatically, even when tolerances are narrow.

Processing

The A and B components are delivered ready to use in 20 kg pail and 200 kg drum kits. With adequate metering equipment, they can be pumped directly from the original containers into the injection molding machine and mixed by a static mixer. The mixing ratio is 1 : 1. At room temperature, mixtures of A and B components have a pot life of at least three days.
